Savvy Shopper Training

If you joined THRIVE Life because you are savvy and want to get the best prices possible then you have made a great decision!  By purchasing a consultant kit, you have been able to buy product below cost!  That is a great start and I hope you enjoy your kit.  I have a few more tips for you to help you maximize the discounts and pricing available to you as a consultant.

Important: If you have questions about anything in this training, please ask your question as a comment on this blog.  That way, anyone else who has that same question can see the answer too!  Thanks!

1.  Set up a THRIVE Q and Keep it Active.

In order to be considered a consultant each month, you must purchase at least $50 in product through the THRIVE Q.  Every dollar you spend through your THRIVE Q earns you 1 point.  For every 500 points you accumulate, you earn $15 in free product!  Make sure you always have product in your overall Q wishlist so that even if you forget to edit your shipment that month, you will automatically be shipped something you want at the discounted Q price.

2.  Use the Monthly Q-Pon

Each month THRIVE discounts one product significantly below the regular "party" price.   If the Q-Pon is for a product you love, make sure you purchase it that month.  Add it to your Q, or make a separate purchase.  This is typically the lowest price you will see on that product.  You will get an email early each month announcing the Q-Pon (typically 20%-30% off retail) and other monthly specials (typically 5%-15% off retail).

3.  Set your Q to ship after the 7th of the month

After seeing what the Q-Pon and specials are for the month, you may want to change what you have set to ship in order to take advantage of the sales.  If you Q is set to ship during the first week of the month, you may not have time to edit that month's shipment and may need to make a separate purchase (and pay double shipping) to take advantage of the sale prices.  On a side note, avoid setting your Q to ship around the 15th as that is a really busy day and it will take longer to ship.

4.  Take Advantage of Shipping Brackets.

Did you know that it costs the same to ship $80 worth of product as it does to ship $5 worth of product?  Make purchases and set your Q Budget right at the top of a shipping bracket in order to maximize your shipping dollar.  For example, if you have a $35 purchase to make, wait to make that purchase (if you can) until you have another $45 to add to it.  That way you pay $88 total ($80 in product and $8 in shipping) instead of $96 total ($80 in product and $16 in shipping).  Use the following chart to help you maximize your shipping:
I recommend an $80, Q for new consultants to take the best advantage of shipping and the "extra" purchases mentioned in step #5 below.

5.  Earn Free Product

In addition to commission, every time you place an "extra" order for yourself through your office, you can also earn free and discounted products!!!   No matter how small your order, you will earn 10% back in free product.  Once you've accumulated at least $400 in orders, you can also start earning product at 50% off retail.

To claim this free product, you will need to set up a "party" for yourself.  You may not ever actually have a real physical party / event.  That is okay!  But if you want free and discounted product, you still need to set up a party / event in your office.  That way, the computer knows to group all your extra orders together and give you benefits for them.

It is important to know that unlike commission, you will not automatically receive your free and discounted product.  You must claim that product by placing a "Host Benefit Order."

Your party will be "active" in the computer for 90 days (90 days is just under 3 months) after the day you create it.  So, you can claim your free and discounted product at the same time as you place an extra order, or you can continue to tie all your extra orders to that party for the entire 90 days and then claim your free and discounted product after you've accumulated some good benefits.

Here is a chart showing what you will earn as you accumulate extra purchases and tie them all to the same party.  Once you claim your free and discounted product, you will need to create another party in your office in order to start accumulating benefits again:

Congrats!

You are now an official "Savvy THRIVE Shopper!"  By following those five basic steps, you will take advantage of all discounts available to you as a consultant!

  1. Can I change the date of my Q or is that something you have to do for me?

    1. I cannot change anything about your Q Terry. Once it is set up, I'm not allowed to touch it. (-: During the first three months of any Q, the date cannot be changed and the budget cannot be decreased without calling customer service. After that, you can change anything you want about your Q. Just log in at thrivelife.com and click on teh Q tab. You can then edit everything from your ship date to your budget to what it coming in your next shipment or what is in your overall Q list!

  2. Also, how can I "cash in" the 500 points I have earned on my Q?

    1. Go to the Settings page of your Q by clicking Settings in the gray menu bar at the top of your page. Under the Q Club section, there is a link that will take you to your account page, where your points will appear. Click the amount of product you would like to redeem to add the discount to your shopping cart. Then, add other things you'd like to buy to your cart. When you place the order (a non-Q order), the credit will be deducted from your total

  4. Can I use the Q-Pon of the month for multiples of that item or is it only limited to one? Hate to be greedy, but a good deal is hard to pass up.

  5. I'm interested in being at minimum a "Savvy Shopper" and potentially a "Hobbiest." I already have a Q set up, but under a consultant that I sort of defaulted to because I visited her website a couple of years ago. I don't have any sort of relationship with her. I guess my question is, if I were to sign up as a consultant under you, how does this work, do I cancel my Q with that other consultant and start over? How would that work? Thanks for all of the great information you've provided!!

    1. Hi Sherry!

I would love to have you join my team! As an existing Q customer, you are still allowed to choose your enroller. If you choose to enroller with someone different than who you Q is with (me in this case), your Q will automatically be moved to them (me) when you enroll. No need to cancel and re-create your Q. Let me know what other questions you have!

  6. Good morning, Misty. I did not understand how to earn free and half price product on my purchases until we recently got this helpful training email from you. We would like to tie our additional orders together to benefit from our purchases outside of our Q order for the last ninety days. I am unable to assign the start date for the parties though. Can you help me so that I can place my first host benefits order? We were unaware how this part of the business worked until you sent out this recent training. Thanks, Misty. Have a great day. (As you can see from our account we have purchased quite a bit of product outside our Q.)

    1. Sure Doug! This video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sS9DM3-UBc8) will show you how to create a party in your "my office" The start date of the party cannot be in the past. So, if you held a party in the past, you will need to pick today or later as the start date for that party.

  7. very informative!
I have done as much of the Path as I can until my party closes etc. I read all this and opened up my cans of chicken TVP, bacon TVP, green onions, asparagus, and egg noodle pasta. I added a can of cream of celery soup some frozen tomatoes and mini peppers (both of which had been thrown in the freezer to avoid spoiling) sour cream also nearly expired and created a buttery chicken pasta that hit the spot on this dreary day

  8. Hi Misty! When ordering outside of the Q for myself, what type of party do I set up? If it is a new party order, do I need to set myself up as a new customer? Thanks!

    1. Hey Brett! Good to "see" you here! When you place an "outside" order, just create a normal party (events - create event), but with YOU as the host. Then place the order as normal (new party order) and use your email address as the customer (you are already your own customer so you don't need to add yourself) and choose to link it to the party you set up for yourself.
